The Department of Radiology performs various examinations from simple imaging to fluoroscopy, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), ultrasound inspection, and angiography. With various imaging and examination methods, the department identifies the location, size and metastasis area, etc. of a lesion in the body.
Suchinformation, as examined by a radiology specialist, is delivered to thepatient’s attending physician to help determine the treatment approach to adisorder. Areas of specialty include head and neck radiology, pediatricradiology, chest radiology, abdomen radiology, musculoskeletal radiology,urological radiology, vascular and interventional radiology, and breast radiology.Each detailed field is staffed with well-trained specialists and residents whoexamine and interpret images of CT, MRI, ultrasound and angiography. Inaddition to radiology examination and image interpretation, radiologists alsoperform interventional procedures including carotid artery embolization ofliver cancer, transcutaneous drainage of abscess, and non-surgical treatmentsfor cerebral artery aneurysm and cerebrovascular diseases.
